Feeder Cattle (CME): (High: Jan or Aug//Low: Apr-Jun) Breeding patterns determine supply throughout year while availability of grass and corn harvest drive demand. With most cow/calf operations in regions with extreme winter weather, cows are bred to calve in spring, making supply of yearlings heavy in April-June. Demand strong into August to fill feedlots for coming corn harvest.
